Human Connections is seeking additional people to add to our team in the following positions:

Direct Support Professionals

Direct Support Professionals work within our community-living supports program. We provide targeted services to clients to assist them in working towards their goals and increasing their independence. Staff are matched with clients based on preferences and experiences to ensure it is a good fit for all involved. This is a community-based position in which DSP’s work alongside the program manager to identify goals of service, create a plan for how goals will be met and to determine a working schedule. This position provides flexibility in scheduling and location of services to fit the needs of the employee.

Must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Ability to pass a criminal history check conducted by the Department of Human Services

  • Access to a reliable vehicle, maintain valid auto insurance
    with full coverage, and have an acceptable driving record;

  • Maintain current First Aid and CPR certificate (can be obtained after employment)

  • At least two years of post-secondary education in a social services field (such as social work, psychology, sociology, etc.) and at least one year of experience providing support services to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities or three years’ experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities

  • High organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience providing support services to individuals with co-occurring mental health diagnoses.

Professional Behavior Consultants

Seeking individuals with direct experience providing professional behavior services or with experience working directly in the behavioral health field. Professional behavior consultants work with clients to assess behavioral barriers and to develop strategies for working through challenges. Behavior consultants complete functional behavior assessments and positive behavior support plans. Human Connections is able to consider potential candidates with vocational or educational experience in the behavioral health field, who do not have formal training in completing the duties of a behavior consultant. Individuals able to meet the minimum qualifications for a behavior professional will be considered for entrance into the behavior consultant training program with Human Connections.

Must meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • Possess a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) graduate level certification in behavior analysis and one year of experience using positive behavior support services with individuals who experience intellectual or developmental disabilities

  • Possess a Master of Arts or Master of Science in psychology, sociology, human services, education, social work, or the equivalent as evidenced by providing transcripts indicating applicable coursework, and one year of experience using positive behavior support services with individuals who experience intellectual or developmental disabilities

  • Possess a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in psychology, sociology, human services, education, social work, or the equivalent as evidenced by providing transcripts indicating applicable coursework, and three years of experience using positive behavior support services with individuals who experience intellectual or developmental disabilities

  • A minimum of six years of experience performing professional behavior services using positive behavior support services prior to January 1, 2021.
